CRUCIAL BLAST WEBSTORE: NEW ARRIVALS FOR WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29TH 2014
Getting ready to kick off an intensely busy month here at Crucial Blast, and what better way than with our latest List of new arrivals and restocks, which is pretty massove this week with over one hundred and forty seven new and newly restocked titles! 2014 is already gearing up to be an active year here at the shop and the label, and we've got a number of new cassette releases available this week that just came out on our Infernal Machines imprint. And then there's the Featured Release for this List, which has had our sound-system here pounding like a machine-shop since the beginning of the year...
This week's Featured Release is the new reissue of Lost Masters Of The Universe, the crushing collection of early demo material from Norwegian industrial black metallers Mysticum. These guys are the pioneers of mechanically-driven blackened violence, their debut album In the Streams of Inferno from 1996 is one of the most vicious amalgams of pounding industrial music, frostbitten Nordic black metal, and violent techno to emerge from the 90's black metal underground. But up until recently, both that album and their earlier recordings were increasingly difficult to track down in physical form, original pressings on CD often going for a hundred bucks or more. Over the past year or so, legendary metal label Peacveville has engaged in a reissue campaign of the Mysticum catalog, and at long last we've got high quality new versions of not only Mysticum's classic debut album, but also this newest reissue of the band's vicious early 90's demos, Lost Masters Of The Universe. Originally released on the band's own Planet Satan Revolution label, this collection was marred by pressing and production issues upon it's initial release, but with this new Peaceville edition (which we have in stock on both CD and deluxe gatefold LP), the band went back and reconstructed this collection of demos from new source material, remastering the whole thing and presenting it in top form, with new artwork and liner notes. The finished result is amazing, the sound punishing; fellow fans of the most ferocious forms of industrial black metal are going to flip when they hear how vicious this shit sounds in it's new incarnation....
As I mentioned at the start, we've got a handful of new cassette tape releases that have just surfaced on our Infernal Machines imprint here at Crucial Blast this week, too. There are four new titles in the series: a new full-length tape of brutal harsh electronic noise from American artist Goat (aka Andy O’Sullivan of black industrialists Goatvargr and the Philosophy Shop label); a cassette reissue of the excellent debut album of eerie vaporous ghost-drone from Caulbearer, Haunts; the debut self-titled tape from experimental, noise-infested death/stench/crust metal outfit Curseworship, featuring Ross Hagen from dark ambient project Encomiast; and a brand new tape of pitch-black death industrial from Death Factory that pays homage to a trio of sleazy, disturbing early 80's horror films. Each one is professionally manufactured, and limited to two hundred copies...
