<p class="MsoNormal">Crucial Blast is stoked to announce that we are joining
forces with longtime friends HIGH NOON KAHUNA on the release of their second
album, <b><i>This Place Is Haunted</i></b>. Harder, darker, but also brimming
with haunting melody, the Maryland band features former members of Internal
Void, Vox Populi and Admiral Browning, executing an incredibly infectious mix
of classic noise rock and psychedelic crunch. </p><p class="MsoNormal">The twelve songs on <b><i>Haunted</i></b>
are on a whole new level from the band; this rumbling riff-beast brilliantly evokes
everything from pummeling Am Rep abrasion, soaring Hawkwindian space rock,
haunting post-punk, Dick Dale-on-acid licks, doses of massive doom-laden crush,
and even wisps of classic Morricone moodiness and some hammering QOTSA-esque
groove. </p><p class="MsoNormal">Easily one of the most unique bands ever to emerge from the DC/MD area,
KAHUNA is weirder, heavier, and catchier than ever before, and C-BLAST is
incredibly excited to bring this banger to your ears.</p>

For the twenty-fifth anniversary of CRUCIAL BLAST, we are stoked to
present the first in a series of Crucial Blast shirts featuring
brand-new commissioned art from our favorite visual artists. This design
features the gnarly collage art of Cody Drasser, guitarist for the
acclaimed New York prog-death outfit AFTERBIRTH and grave ambient
project CAULBEARER, as well as a highly skilled visual artist in his own
right; we've been longtime fans of Drasser and his music/art, with
several releases from him in the C-Blast catalog..
<br /><br />
Amazingly, this is actually the first time ever that we've issued a CRUCIAL BLAST design. After 25 years, the time is now!
<br /><br />
The "Psychotronic Catastrophism" design is an accurate glimpse into the
neurologic strategies behind the art, music, film, and literature that
we release here at Crucial Blast. Issued in a limited printing, on black
Gildan 100% cotton short sleeve t-shirt, two-color print, with the
Crucial Blast sigil on the back of the shirt.</p><p><b>ORDER HERE:</b></p><p><a href="https://crucialblast.net/shirts.html" target="_blank">CRUCIAL BLAST</a></p><p><b>CRUCIAL BLAST SHOP:</b></p><p><b><a href="http://crucialblastshop.net/album.php?ID=10041" target="_blank">CRUCIAL BLAST <i>Psychotronic Catastrophism (SMALL)</i> SHIRT</a> </b></p><p><a href="http://crucialblastshop.net/album.php?ID=10042" target="_blank"><b> </b><b>CRUCIAL BLAST <i>Psychotronic Catastrophism (MEDIUM)</i> SHIRT</b></a></p><p><a href="http://crucialblastshop.net/album.php?ID=10043" target="_blank"> </a><b><a href="http://crucialblastshop.net/album.php?ID=10043" target="_blank">CRUCIAL BLAST <i>Psychotronic Catastrophism (LARGE)</i> SHIRT</a></b></p><p><a href="http://crucialblastshop.net/album.php?ID=10044" target="_blank"><b>CRUCIAL BLAST <i>Psychotronic Catastrophism (EXTRA LARGE)</i> SHIRT</b></a><b> </b></p><p><b><a href="http://crucialblastshop.net/album.php?ID=10045" target="_blank">CRUCIAL BLAST <i>Psychotronic Catastrophism (XXL)</i> SHIRT</a></b><b> </b></p><p><b><br /></b></p><p><b><br /></b></p>Crucial Blasthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07192791297903004244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-91410489548209906.post-39380224212889846442024-01-11T16:30:00.002-05:002024-01-11T16:30:45.692-05:00NEW FROM CRUCIAL BLAST: GRAVE GNOSIS "PESTILENCE CROWNED" CASSETTE / BOOKLET / POSTER SET <p> </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI5u_mZbYDYxTh9fBmD0yNwzSA_vyAIrjmJE3j7KYpW2-ksWkMxWumnmNUUcmPP4uw__lWPC-UaVTuKyLxR584bdT46zeAiDE0TbFq4vDo9z__qPsC_bZ3TeEXRQ4v6qMGoczomDl5I5Ld0xNve4VDyx357LlV-tGZEktX8IP8yUTDhSigAqz9kRiUC4fR/s1200/grave%20gnosis%20photo%20for%20blog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="960" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI5u_mZbYDYxTh9fBmD0yNwzSA_vyAIrjmJE3j7KYpW2-ksWkMxWumnmNUUcmPP4uw__lWPC-UaVTuKyLxR584bdT46zeAiDE0TbFq4vDo9z__qPsC_bZ3TeEXRQ4v6qMGoczomDl5I5Ld0xNve4VDyx357LlV-tGZEktX8IP8yUTDhSigAqz9kRiUC4fR/w512-h640/grave%20gnosis%20photo%20for%20blog.jpg" width="512" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p>CRUCIAL BLAST is ultra-stoked to collaborate with <b><a href="https://gravegnosis.bandcamp.com/" target="_blank">GRAVE GNOSIS</a></b> on a limited-edition cassette release of their latest album <i><b>Pestilence Crowned</b></i>. </p><p>This searing psychedelic blast of Southern USBM is issued in a hand-numbered edition of 100 copies, and is packaged with an 11" x 17" poster of the <i><b>Pestilence Crowned </b></i>artwork and a twenty-four page supplemental booklet of liner notes, ritual system, and artwork, previously only available as a .PDF download with the album's late 2023 digital release.</p><p>This acid-soaked outrage will begin shipping on or around 01/17/24.</p><p>AVAILABLE AT:</p><p><a href="http://crucialblast.net" target="_blank">CRUCIAL BLAST</a></p><p><a href="http://crucialblastshop.net/album.php?ID=10040" target="_blank">CRUCIAL BLAST SHOP</a></p><p><a href="https://crucialblast.bandcamp.com/album/pestilence-crowned" target="_blank">CRUCIAL BLAST BANDCAMP</a> <br /></p><p>Here's my sprawling review of the album: <i><b></b></i></p><p><i><b> </b></i></p><div class="paragraph-indents clear-both mt-2"><p>The swirling, sweat-soaked psychedelic black metal of Grave Gnosis first infected me when I discovered the band's 2021 album <em>Lux Nigredo </em> and 2022 EP <em> Towards the Nameless Darkness </em>
a while back. Both of 'em are terrific and terrifying blasts of
incredibly chaotic and mind-bending black metal that likewise caught the
attention of many that follow the USBM underground, despite only being
available as digital downloads and super-limited cassettes. Slick with
swamp slime, the band's music is a smoldering torch in the darkness,
mutating the raw matter of black metal into nightmarish and exuberant
ritual. There's a distinctly marshy Southern stench that permeates their
blend of raging black / death metal, psych, and neo-classical, wafting
off the triumphant galloping riffs, harsh and blazing blackened blast,
and miasmic trippiness that completely enshrouds their music. But on
their latest, <em> Pestilence Crowned </em>, all hell fully and truly
breaks loose as the band ascends to a new level of Satanic savagery and
twisted, psychotronic violence. This shit is <em> wild </em> . Possessed with a powerful shamanic presence, the nine songs on <em> Pestilence </em>
are thoroughly tangled with specific formulae of ceremonial magic and
violent adoration, a direct continuation of the themes running through <em>Nigredo</em>
related to the band's system of Vedantic Nihilism. Each song becomes a
paved stone on the honeysuckle and kudzu-covered footpath to a
particular transcendental state; no mere soundtrack to patchwork
blasphemies, this album directly interacts with the nervous system and
the third eye. <br />
</p><p> From the ghoulish ambience of opener "Amidst the Rotten Coils of
a Great Centipede" with its ghostly cello, tribal percussion and eerie
experimental electronics, and the subsequent blast of feverish churning
chaos that is "Carnivorous Darkness", this stuff undulates in some
seriously crazed ways. Moving through passages of solemn funereal
chamber strings and traces of rustic folk music tradition in the
gorgeous acoustic strum that appears on tracks like "Ragziel", this
album strikes a balance between inchoate madness and progressive
intricacy that doesn't really sound like anything else going on in the
US black metal field. It all explodes in kaleidoscopic forms, heavily
layered with rabid howls echoing into oblivion, strange almost <em> sitar </em>-like
ragas spinning in blackness, Moog-like spaced-out synthesizers snaking
around the darkly majestic melodies and fractured riffs; you've got
moments here that echo the weirder symphonic bombast found in later
Emperor and <em>Aspera Hiems Symfonia</em>-era Arcturus , others that
hint at classic death metal influences, but Grave Gnosis is so much more
chaotic and convoluted, beautiful and monstrous. They've delivered one
of the best American occult black metal albums I've heard so far this
decade. Drown in the fires of its spiritual intensity. <br />
</p><p> This cassette edition of <em> Pestilence Crowned </em> is
complete with the band's supplemental material: while the tape comes in a
traditional case, it is presented in a re-sealable sleeve that also
contains an 11" by 17" foldout poster of the scorching, lysergic cover
art, and the band's twenty-three page <em> Pestilence Crowned </em>
booklet. The latter is an essential piece of the experience, not just a
collection of expansive liner notes pertinent to the album, but a new
grimoire written by Grave Gnosis frontman Caine Del Sol ( aka Ø ), with
explanations both "mundane" and "esoteric" for each song. The liner
notes go into intimate detail about the creation and recording of the
album, but pairs that with dense occult text, ritual practice, and
extensive sigil art that is all as feral, impenetrable, and liberating
as the music of <em>Pestilence Crowned </em> itself. <br />

</p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>Until very recently, there’s been a considerable length
of time since any kind of official update or news announcement came from
Crucial Blast, which is obvious to anyone who has followed the label, store,
and my other associated projects in the past. Up to this point, I have not
publicly discussed the situation that caused this "radio silence",
and the only people that are fully aware of it are those in my immediate
circles. But I feel that I owe everyone an explanation, as for all intents and
purposes, it appeared that I had fallen off the face of the earth in 2017 and
taken C-Blast with me. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>I don't expect anyone to concern themselves with this
information. I don’t expect anyone to read this. But some individuals have
asked me what happened, so here it is.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>What occurred was this: I had been trying to coordinate
care for my elderly father for years, as he lived alone in a city eight hours
away from me, and operated a business there. At the time, he was my only
surviving parent, and was nearing 90 years old. I was already dealing with
various challenges in regards to this, trying to oversee his safety and
well-being remotely while also operating Crucial Blast as a label and store
with its own various obligations and challenges; it should be no surprise that like
most small independent labels, C-Blast is a one-man operation. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;">In
2017, my father’s health began to decline further and certain troubling issues
regarding his safety required my attention. Then he suffered another heart
attack, this one more severe than ever before, and my wife and I flew down to
his location to see him and assess the situation. It became immediately
apparent that my father required a level of care and specialized follow-up that
he would not receive if he remained in his current location; my wife and I made
the difficult decision to have him fly back with us to our home, and proceed
from there. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>In a short period of time, the situation declined to the
point where I had to take on full-time, 24-7 care of my father, who by this
point was suffering from assorted complications relating to congestive heart
failure and vascular dementia, along with a host of other age-related health
issues and additional disorders. I also had to become his POA.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>For reasons that are unimportant to this
explanation, I was the sole family member engaging in his care and oversight.
This, as you might imagine, made a difficult situation that much more complex
and problematic. As I did my best to manage his declining physical health and
all of the demands of living and caring for a parent with dementia in my home,
there was the additional quandary of his still-operating business. This
obviously needed to be resolved in some way, with the intention of shutting it
down, but the process and details of that particular element of our situation
developed into an extremely acrimonious problem, a rabbithole of issues and
conflicts that I was entirely unprepared for, and which consumed as much of my
time and effort as everything else going on. The accumulation of these problems
and challenges took a gargantuan toll on me, in all regards: mentally,
physically, emotionally, and financially.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>While all of this was happening, I was also still
attempting to operate Crucial Blast, manage orders, and do what I could, with
as much as I could, with the shrinking personal resources left to me. But
navigating all of the various issues was incredibly difficult for me. And
despite what I thought were my best efforts, I fell out of touch with people,
some orders were screwed up, and it became increasingly demanding for me to
manage the typical day-to-day challenges and obligations behind running a
business. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>Circumstances inevitably led me to take over end-of-life
care for my father, with new issues and new difficulties arising on a weekly
basis. Endless nights spent in emergency rooms. Countless ambulance calls to my
house. The duration of this full-time end-of-life care turned out to go on for
much longer than we had anticipated. I did my best to provide my father with as
much safety, care, and respect as I could, and this is where I finally came
face to face with the ruinous nature of both the </span><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;">U.S.</span><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> health care system and the field of elder care. For
various reasons, there were very few resources available to us. I discovered
the reality that, unless one is of great wealth and means, the health care
system is an abject failure, and that there is no one out there to step in and
assist an individual with the immense responsibilities and concerns of being a
full-time caregiver and advocate to a parent with dementia and major health and
mobility issues. The Medicare / Medicaid system was difficult to deal with, to
say the least.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I do not know how we
could have managed my father's health issues if he had not been a veteran, and
received health care from the VA system. And if it had not been for the
Herculean efforts of my wife to assist me in everything, I do not think that I
would have been able to get through this process. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>At the very end of his life, I was dealing with Hospice,
and I had managed to get him a higher level of care than I could provide in my
home, through placement in the best Assisted Living facility we could manage.
Again, there were numerous problems and logistical issues that I was battling
on a daily basis. But I had a small degree of peace of mind knowing that he was
in capable hands, that he wouldn't suffer some terrible accident in my home,
and that I could visit him regularly.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>The final weeks were very tough, very, very tough, but my
father ultimately passed away peacefully in bed.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>In the wake of this, I completely spiraled out.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I was ruined.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Years of mounting stress, exhaustion, self-loathing, and guilt had
reached a terminal point. It was catastrophic. I had a complete and total
nervous breakdown. I became completely dysfunctional as an adult, and sunk into
a long and bottomless depression. I had constant, almost hourly panic attacks.
I was incapable of communicating with anyone outside of my house. What had
already been the most difficult period of my life shifted into what I can
really only describe as a vast, black hole. With no hope of exit. This
situation had devastated me and shattered me on every level. Additional issues
arose, such as losing my day job due to the company permanently shutting down
due to Covid. The stress of the concurrent lockdowns. An accident that left me
with a broken leg and dislocated ankle, followed with six months of physical
therapy and a permanent injury. This personal breakdown went on for some period
of time, and it was only through the perseverance and persistence of my wife
that I finally found my way into the mental health care system. That proved to
be a nightmare of its own, but after months, years of effort, I made my way out
and back to basic functionality. This in and of itself has been a long, arduous
process that is still ongoing. But I found a way out, to a semblance of
normalcy. I still currently cope with severe depression, panic disorder and
generalized anxiety disorder, but I cope.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>This leads to now. I am deeply embarrassed and regretful
that I allowed my various commitments with Crucial Blast to deteriorate over
that period of time. The totality of this situation had all but destroyed
Crucial Blast, an entity that I had been creating since 1999. But now that I am
on the other side of this terrible experience, I am energized and enthusiastic
to rebuild and correct, to make sure that all of my obligations are fully
resolved. Because working with musicians that I admire, and talking and sharing
music and art and literature that I am excited about, trying to expose people
to art and ideas that strike a nerve in me, it is my favorite thing to engage
with in this world, aside from family. In spite of the difficulties, and the problems,
and the pitfalls. Over the past year and a half, I have been working hard to
fully re-activate Crucial Blast in all of its forms, to respond to anyone and
everyone that has contacted me for whatever reason, and to fulfill every
promise that I have made over the years. I feel momentum. I feel motivation.
And I have ideas spilling out of my head.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>And I thank every single person, be it musicians,
artists, customers, labels, distributors, friends, acquaintances, anyone and
everyone that has been waiting on a response from me during this period of time
for whatever reason, for their incredible patience. I am humbled by your
patience. I appreciate it so much more than you can know. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;">And
I'll be talking to you as soon as I possibly can. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;">I am hoping to announce some
very exciting projects, reissues, and more from Crucial Blast in the coming
months.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>I know I am not alone in experiencing these intense
pressures and predicaments. The entire elder-care system is a labyrinthine
nightmare. And no one is sounding the alarm.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: 11.0pt;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;"> </span>I have posted some important links below that helped me

mine. </span></p>

Crucial Blast confirms the early May release of the debut EP by <b>SNARES OF SIXES</b> – a volatile and exploratory new entity created by Jason Walton, founding member of now defunct Agalloch – with <i>Yeast Mother: An Electroacoustic Mass</i>.<br />
<br />
Fusing an intense and eclectic range of extreme and experimental
approaches into a disjointed and somehow simultaneously seamless hybrid
of sounds, <i>Yeast Mother: An Electroacoustic Mass</i> features
contributions from members of Lawnmower Deth, Winds, Sculptured,
Blekspetl, Hollow Branches, Self Spiller, Barrowlands, Age Of Silence,
Dolven, Musk Ox, The Night Watch, Maestus, and more.<br />
While renowned for his work as bassist for Agalloch and Sculptured,
Jason Walton has also frequently ventured into other, stranger and more
experimental regions over the past two decades, offering a range of
baffling and captivatingly weird sounds with bands like Self Spiller,
Especially Likely Sloth, and Nothing.<br />
<br />
And it’s in that latter territory
that we find the debut EP from <b>SNARES OF SIXES</b>, his latest creation. On the band’s debut EP <i>Yeast Mother: An Electroacoustic Mass, </i>Snares
Of Sixes makes a bold and confounding introduction, tangling the
listener in confusing, highly aggressive avant-prog. The genre-shredding
sound taps into a warped confluence of frenzied King Crimson-esque
progressive rock, faint traces of frayed, heavily mutated black metal,
haunting atmospheric touches, and abrasive electronics, and the result
leaves us deliriously disoriented.<br />
<br />
Often difficult, frequently nightmarish, <b>SNARES OF SIXES</b>’
output easily ranks as one of Walton’s more challenging and oblique
offerings, and for the listeners, one of his most fascinating. Features
Marius Sjøli and Robert Hunter (Hollow Branches), Andy Winter (Winds),
Pete Lee (Lawnmower Deth), Nathanaël Larochette (Musk Ox), and Don
Anderson (Agalloch, Sculptured), among others. Recorded all over the
world, the record was mixed at Earth in Sound Studios by Jason Walton,
mastered by James Plotkin, and features graphics by Marius Sjoli and
artwork by Aesop Dekker.<br />
Crucial Blast will issue <i>Yeast Mother: An Electroacoustic Mass </i>on digital and six-panel digipak CD on May 5th. Stand by for audio previews, preorder info, and more in the weeks ahead. <b>SNARES OF SIXES</b> is currently working on a live lineup in order to start performing live in the months ahead.<br />

<b><i>Yeast Mother: An Electroacoustic Mass</i> Track Listing:</b><br />
<br />
1. Urine Hive<br />
2. Lions To Leeches<br />
3. The Mother’s Throat<br />
4. Retroperistalsis<br />
<br />
Five years ago, in a period of downtime from the band Agalloch, Jason
Walton wanted to write a strange and abrasive record; the aim was to
record an album that pushed on the paradigms within metal. The result is
a cohesive and challenging album that draws from seemingly disparate
ideas and styles. Initially slated be a full-length album, Walton
realized that he complexity and density of the material encourages
listening in small dosage, and <b>SNARES OF SIXES</b>’<i> Yeast Mother: An Electroacoustic Mass</i> EP was finalized.<br />
<br />
With tracks like “Urine Hive”, “Lions To Leeches”, “The Mother’s
Throat”, Walton and company lurch through an escalating, ever-shifting
frenzy of creepy, labyrinthine melody and pummeling percussive chaos,
over-modulated riffage and schizophrenic time signatures, where android
mutterings give way to hideous blackened shrieks and bouts of bizarre
crooning, the sound stitched with veins of crushing metallic heaviness,
fragments of fractured electronica, and an overall surreal animated
alternate reality vibe as it reaches towards the menacing glitched-out
tech-metal hallucination of “Retroperistalsis” that closes the EP.<br />
<br />

<span style="color: white;"><span style="font-family: "arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Cvlt Nation's write-up accompanying the stream of <i>Hymns For The Broken, Swollen And Silent </i>offers,
"While dark ambient and industrial create the basis of the sound, the
outbreaks of the record move towards the further extreme sides of black
metal and noise. The noise element is able to smear the parts, provide
more character and enhance the dominance of the industrial patterns,
while the black metal essence sets them ablaze. The changes to black
metal modes is truly awe-inspiring, as Mories plunges the knife deeper
into the wound, with vehement guitar parts, blastbeats and an overall
ferocity. The extreme vocals that accompany most of these moments are
brilliant, cutthroat and with ample distortion applied, they make the
process that more realistic and palpable."</span></span></div>

is the work of Maurice "Mories" De Jong, also of Aderlating, Cloak Of
Altering, De Magia Veterum, among others. Just over a year since the
outfit's <i>Abyss Of Longing Throats</i> full-length was released, and in the wake of the project's collaboration with Dragged Into Sunlight, <i>Hymns For The Broken, Swollen And Silent</i> shows <b>GNAW THEIR TONGUES</b>
at the top of its game. The music grabs you by the throat and sucks all
the air out of the room. Although it leaves little more than an
anaerobe environment, the music itself feels likes it has been breathing
and organically growing into this true beast of an album. Fully
performed and recorded at the Bejaarde II, Drachten, by Mories who also
mixed and mastered the album, <i>Hymns For The Broken, Swollen And Silent </i>also features guest vocals on "Our Mouths Ridden With Worms" by Hekte Zaren.</span></span></div>

<span style="color: white;"><span style="font-family: "arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Invisible Oranges reports of <i>Hymns For The Broken, Swollen And Silent</i>,
"high-volume cacophony explodes without reason or warning, usually
accompanied by mechanical blast beats, flashing on and off in
unpredictable intervals. Waves of disorienting sampling come and go,
dotted with club-dragging beats and the harrowing integration of a
choir's howl. If you wanted to discover the underside of music, here it
is, in all of its savage and impenetrable beauty." Toilet Ov Hell's 4/5
review includes, "The record breathes, and as it does so, it sucks you
into its lungs. Therein awaits a labyrinth of sounds that should not be;
a kaleidoscopic purgatory of shifting textures and slithering
frequencies. Cinematic as the tracks may be, this is not background
listening. Your ear cannot help but wander around these unhallowed
halls; you may become entranced, you may even become lost, but tuning
out is impossible." PureGrainAudio's 8/10 review warns, "Humanity, take
note. This is the perfect soundtrack, to accompany the very worst of
unseeable video news, and documentary reports you've seen so far for
2016; including unearthed war graves and crime victim burial sites. When
the helpless feeling of numbing emptiness growing from such exposure
seems of comfort, you're ready for this album."</span></span></div>

<br />
After a nearly four year wait, Austin-based doom-laden, darkwave outfit, <strong>TROLLER</strong>,
has finally returned with the follow-up to their acclaimed eponymous
debut. It was there that the band introduced their lush, lugubrious
sound combining heavy synths, slow-motion rhythms and haunting vocal
melodies, woven into infectious, brooding blasts of darkpop perfection;
the songs seemed to emanate from some cavernous subterranean chamber,
drenched in reverb and surrounded by shorter pieces of bleak ambience
and grinding noise. A sinister, often abrasive edge gleamed from that
early material, but it also featured some of the most stunning darkwave
anthems we’d heard in ages.<br />
<br />
With their first proper full-length album, <strong>TROLLER</strong>
has expanded on that sound even further, their sensuous, dread-filled
pop encrusted with those huge, otherworldly synths and distorted,
grinding bass roar, rumbling across crawling drum machines and washes of
glacial Carpenterian electronics, gorgeously gloomy synthpop hooks
gleaming in the dimly lit corners of <em>Graphic</em>, as Amber Goers’
soulful, utterly bewitching vocals once again haunt Troller’s tenebrous
depths. Songs like “Not Here”, “Torch” and “Storm Maker” shimmer with a
malevolent majesty, while elsewhere the album slips into nightmarish
electronic ambience and stunning expanses of black kosmische bliss. And
while the band’s noisier tendencies are more subdued this time around,
there are still surges of corrosive sound throughout <em>Graphic</em>
that materialize in dense feedback and jagged chords that are juxtaposed
with the album’s more beautiful passages. Combined with their penchant
for provocative imagery and apocalyptic undercurrents, this produces
something far bleaker and more unsettling than anything else we’re
hearing in the realm of dark synthpop right now.<br />

<span style="color: white;"><span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Legendary
British noise rock purveyors, <b>RAMLEH</b>, have announced their upcoming US
West Coast tour dates for later this month, as the band makes a rare trip to the
country in support of their latest double-disc album, <i>Circular
Time.</i></span></span></div>

<span style="color: white;"><span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Released in
December via Crucial Blast, <i>Circular Time </i>sees <b>RAMLEH</b> closing a
nearly twenty-year gap since the outfit's last "rock-oriented" album, and
delivering their most intense work since re-emerging in recent years. Now
comprised of founding member Gary Mundy, longtime member Anthony Di Franco, and
new drummer Martyn Watts, the album sees the band returning with nearly two
hours of speaker-shredding, void-gazing psychedelia, pushing the pummeling,
Hawkwindian meltdowns heard on classic '90s-era albums.</span></span></div>

</b></span><span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">will
now traverse halfway around the globe with a rare run of West Coast US tour
dates this month. On this tour, the band will mix things up with electronic sets
at half of the shows and rock sets at the others. With four performances
currently slated throughout California, <b>RAMLEH</b> will play an electronic
set in Oakland on Wednesday, January 13th, a rock set in San Francisco on
Thursday the 14th, and Los Angeles on Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th - a
rock set at the first and electronic set at the second. Co-headlining all four
of these shows will be Gate, the avant noise rock project from Michael Morely of
famed New Zealand group The Dead C. "Everything and anything I could have hoped for on a new release from
<b>RAMLEH</b> can be found on <i>Circular Time</i>. The perverse psychedelia,
the motorik rhythms, and the oppressive, noise heavy ambience all appears here,
and hangs strongly with the band's previous records... Without a doubt on my
short list for best albums I have heard this year." Heavy Blog Is Heavy dubbed
the record with a 4/5 review, including, "<i>Circular Times</i>' double album
status is due more to the album's length and the constraints of physical music
mediums. On a thematic level, the album is a strong, consistent project that
tampers with a sonic palette that will generally favor the interest of My
Brother the Wind fans. Expansive passages of Can-esque guitar jamming, thumping
jazz fusion bass lines and careful but poignant drumming stands firm as the core
of <b>RAMLEH</b>'s approach, which favors subtle repetition and development in
the vein of Earth's recent output." The Grim Tower's excellent review offers,
"<i>Circular Time</i> is like LSD without the blotter, it can simply take you on
a journey without a real need for chemical substances of any kind; which I would
consider to the be the generalized power of music... for a band that's been
around for almost four decades, they're definitely showing that they've still
got it."</span></span></div>

<br />
<em>Circular Time</em>, the extensive double-disc album from legendary British noise/electronic rock outfit, <strong>RAMLEH</strong>, is out today through Crucial Blast Records.<br />
<br />
One of the key bands to emerge from the UK’s post-industrial
underground of the early 1980s alongside their Broken Flag label-mates,
Skullflower, <strong>RAMLEH</strong> continually shifted between the
extreme, confrontational power electronics of their early material and
their later forays into searing, lysergic noise rock, right up until the
band went on an extended hiatus in the late ‘90s. With nearly two
decades having passed since their last “rock-oriented” album, <em>Circular Time</em>
sees the outfit returning with their most intense work since
re-emerging in recent years. Now comprised of founding member Gary
Mundy, longtime member Anthony Di Franco, and new drummer Martyn Watts, <strong>RAMLEH</strong>
has returned with nearly two hours of speaker-shredding, void-gazing
psychedelia, pushing the pummeling, Hawkwindian meltdowns heard on
classic 90s-era albums.<br />
<h4>
<strong>Listen to RAMLEH’s <em>Circular Time</em> in its entirety now at </strong><a href="https://crucialblast.bandcamp.com/album/circular-time"><strong>THIS LOCATION</strong></a><strong>.</strong></h4>
<em>Circular Time</em> is out today as a six-panel gatefold jacket
2xCD and all digital outlets through Crucial Blast. The record can be
preordered now through the label’s website <a href="http://crucialblast.net/"><strong>HERE</strong></a>, Bandcamp <a href="https://crucialblast.bandcamp.com/album/circular-time"><strong>HERE</strong></a> and iTunes <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/circular-time/id1054582840"><strong>HERE</strong></a>.<br />
<br />
<strong>RAMLEH </strong>will be performing a series of rare stateside
live dates in early 2016. As soon as the final details on this trip are
aligned, official announcements will be made.<br />
<br />
The Quietus champions<strong> RAMLEH</strong>’s sprawling album in a new review, offering, “<em>Circular Time</em> is a feast of a reward for those who have been waiting for this incarnation of <strong>RAMLEH</strong>
to get its moment in the sun: a wild, celebratory, unrelenting epic of
an album that at times, notably on the industrial slab of impassive
drone ‘Weird Tyranny’ (ironically closer in style to Valediction-era duo
<strong>RAMLEH</strong>, with Watts absent) and the elegiac closing
masterpiece ‘Never Returner’ reaches rarely-paralleled heights of what
Gary Mundy once referred to as “bleak psychedelia.” Brainwashed
published a massive, positive review, which includes, “Everything and
anything I could have hoped for on a new release from <strong>RAMLEH</strong> can be found on <em>Circular Time</em>.
The perverse psychedelia, the motorik rhythms, and the oppressive,
noise heavy ambience all appears here, and hangs strongly with the
band’s previous records… Without a doubt on my short list for best
albums I have heard this year.” Heavy Blog Is Heavy dubbed the record
with a 4/5 review, including, “<em>Circular Times</em>‘ double album
status is due more to the album’s length and the constraints of physical
music mediums. On a thematic level, the album is a strong, consistent
project that tampers with a sonic palette that will generally favor the
interest of My Brother the Wind fans. Expansive passages of Can-esque
guitar jamming, thumping jazz fusion bass lines and careful but poignant
drumming stands firm as the core of <strong>RAMLEH</strong>’s approach,
which favors subtle repetition and development in the vein of Earth‘s
recent output.” The Grim Tower’s excellent review offers, “<em>Circular Time</em>
is like LSD without the blotter, it can simply take you on a journey
without a real need for chemical substances of any kind; which I would
consider to the be the generalized power of music… for a band that’s
been around for almost four decades, they’re definitely showing that
they’ve still got it.”<br />

DIMESLAND: CD Version Of Debut Full-Length From Oakland Avant-Metal Unit Out This Week On Crucial Blast; New Trailer Posted</h1>

<br />
<strong>DIMESLAND</strong>’s debut full-length album, <em>Psychogenic Atrophy</em>, sees its CD release through the cultivators of disobedient audio at Crucial Blast this Friday.<br />
<br />
Appearing at the end of 2014 as a digital-only, self-released title, Oakland, California-based<strong> DIMESLAND</strong>’s <em>Psychogenic Atrophy</em>
made an immediate and powerful impression upon those who heard it,
invaded numerous end-of-year/best-of lists, and flattened just about
everyone who encountered it. An in-house favorite, Crucial Blast was so
blown away by this album that the label wanted to make it available as a
physical release, reissuing <em>Psychogenic Atrophy</em> on CD in
digipack packaging that features subtly unnerving cover art from Swiss
photographer and performance artist Chantal Michel. This album cannot be
recommend enough if you’re a fan of avant-garde death metal and
progressive thrash, as <strong>DIMESLAND</strong> have produced a work
of challenging, terrifying extreme metal which stands amongst the more
unconventional likes of Gorguts, Cynic, Confessor, Voivod, Deathspell
Omega and the like.<br />
Shortly after the initial digital release of <em>Psychogenic Atrophy </em>as <strong>DIMESLAND</strong>
was preparing to tour heavily on the new album, guitarist Drew Cook
tragically passed away. While this leaves the future of the band
uncertain for the time being, the remaining members — Drew’s brother,
guitarist Nolan Cook, drummer Harland Burkhart, and bassist/vocalist
Greg Brace — continue to honor their fallen comrade’s memory, and this
new physical version of <em>Psychogenic Atrophy</em> is meant to do exactly that, even commemorating Drew in the new layout.<br />
<h5>

<br />
Crucial Blast will issue the six-panel digipak CD version of <strong>DIMESLAND</strong>’s <em>Psychogenic Atrophy</em> this Friday, November 20th. Orders for the CD can be placed <a href="http://crucialblast.net/"><strong>HERE</strong></a>, and the digital version through the band <a href="https://dimesland.bandcamp.com/"><strong>HERE</strong></a>.<br />
<br />
With members of art rock legends The Residents’ touring band and blackened prog-doom ensemble Wild Hunt amongst their ranks, <strong>DIMESLAND</strong> released the promising <em>Creepmoon</em> EP a couple of years prior, but even that only hinted at just how maniacal the band’s sound was to become. The eight songs on <em>Psychogenic Atrophy </em>combine
dizzying musical complexity and fearsome dissonance with a sort of
off-kilter thrash. Frantically barked vocals are employed judiciously,
allowing the band to weave long stretches of instrumental mayhem.
Violent, discordant riffs are folded around psychotic time signature
changes, and then suddenly expand into passages of moody, doom-laden
darkness. Cyclical rhythms churn beneath waves of dense, alien sound,
and spastic skronk-assaults suddenly swerve into vicious angular thrash.
And these guys have some serious chops. <em>Psychogenic Atrophy</em>‘s
brutality is sharpened by their technical precision and prowess and
driven by utterly frenetic drumming. But it’s also a heavily layered
album, each listen revealing added details and degrees of delirium.
Intense stuff for sure, with an unsettling, nightmarish atmosphere that
makes this album stand out further amongst the progressive metal horde.
There is a surreal, ever-present malevolence lurking under the surface
of these songs.<br />

As Crucial Blast prepares to release the expansive new <em>Circular Time </em>double-album from legendary UK-based noise rock outfit, <strong>RAMLEH</strong>,
in early December, Invisible Oranges has exclusively issued the first
new audio from the record through a premiere of the track “Never
Returner.”<br />
<br />
While cacophonies of blissed-out guitar squall and violent drumming
come tumbling out of the speakers in a rush of freeform psychnoise, and
vast, rumbling dronescapes unfurl in the abyss, enfolding majestic but
brutally distorted melodies in waves of shadowy low-frequency synth
overrun much of <em>Circular Time</em>, the record is shot through with
moments of sweeping, apocalyptic beauty, building to the powerful
back-to-back finale of “Weird Tyranny” and “Never Returner” that are as
utterly blasted and majestic as anything we’ve heard from <strong>RAMLEH</strong>
in the band’s thirty-some year existence. The song now sees release
through an Invisible Oranges premiere, its’ corresponding review
including, “With <em>Circular Time</em>, <strong>RAMLEH</strong>’s near
two-hour krautrock-inspired expanse of a double album due out later this
month on Crucial Blast Records, Mundy’s meditations on atmosphere are
taken to their absolute extremes, with the epic ten-minute closer ‘Never
Returner’ acting as the album’s drugged-out apex. An unrelenting wall
of psychedelic delirium, ‘Never Returner’ is a thematic culmination of
the vast sound array with which Ramleh has bombarded the listener for
the past ninety-five minutes or so. The layered, effected-to-mush haze,
The Fall-inspired post-punk minimalism, raw noise rock brutality, and
wave upon wave of glorious, harsh, beautiful sound all masterfully
jumbled together in a way which is both chaotic and soothing.”<br />
<h4>
<strong>Hear RAMLEH’s “Never Returner” through Invisible Oranges now at <a href="http://www.invisibleoranges.com/2015/11/ramleh-never-returner-premiere/">THIS LOCATION</a>.</strong></h4>
<strong>RAMLEH</strong>’s <em>Circular Time</em> will be available
from Crucial Blast as a six-panel gatefold jacket double-CD and via
digital outlets on December 4th, having been shifted back two weeks
since prior announcements. Preorders have gone live via the Crucial
Blast Bandcamp where another new track, “Weird Tyranny,” is also playing
and available for instant download with any preorder. View options <a href="https://crucialblast.bandcamp.com/album/circular-time">HERE</a>.<br />
<br />
<strong>RAMLEH </strong>will be performing a series of rare live
dates in California in early 2016; stand by for details on the band’s
forthcoming live actions as well as additional audio samples from <em>Circular Time</em> in the days ahead.<br />
<br />
It’s been nearly twenty years since we last had a full-length album from <strong>RAMLEH</strong> operating in “rock” mode, but the sprawling new double album <em>Circular Time</em>
sees the British outfit returning with their most intense work since
re-emerging in recent years. One of the key bands to emerge from the
British post-industrial underground of the early 1980s alongside their
Broken Flag label-mates, Skullflower, <strong>RAMLEH</strong>
continually shifted between the extreme, confrontational power
electronics of their early material and their later forays into searing,
lysergic noise rock, right up until the band went on an extended hiatus
in the late 1990s. The group would return later the following decade
with a number of reissues and new releases, but up until now, almost all
of the new material from the re-activated <strong>RAMLEH</strong>
leaned more towards their power electronics and harsh noise tendencies.
But with this massive new album, these distortion masters (now comprised
of founding member Gary Mundy, longtime member Anthony Di Franco, and
new drummer Martyn Watts) have returned with nearly two hours of
speaker-shredding, void-gazing psychedelia, pushing the pummeling,
Hawkwindian meltdowns heard on classic 90s-era albums like<em> Be Careful What You Wish For </em>and <em>Shooters Hill</em> into realms of total obliteration.<br />

CLOAK OF ALTERING: Manifestation Album From Gnaw Their Tongues Alter-Ego To See December Release Through Crucial Blast</h1>
</header>
<div class="entry-content">
<a href="http://facebook.com/earsplitpr"><img alt="GTT_2" class="aligncenter wp-image-17787" height="640" src="http://www.earsplitcompound.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/GTT_2.jpg" width="468" /></a><br />
<br />
Crucial Blast will release the unrelenting chaos of <em>Manifestation</em>, the new full-length auditory nightmare from <strong>CLOAK OF ALTERING</strong>, one of many offshoots / alter-egos of the notorious Dutch industrial black metal outfit, Gnaw Their Tongues.<br />
<br />
<strong>CLOAK OF ALTERING</strong> madman creator Maurice de Jong,
a.k.a. Mories (also of Gnaw Their Tongues, Seirom, Aderlating, Mors
Sonat, De Magia Veterum, among others) returns to deliver the follow-up
to the maniacal 2014 album <em>Plague Beasts</em>, unleashing yet
another brain-scrambling blast of mutated symphonic black metal,
nightmarish breakcore madness, and hellish electronics fused together
into a sweat-soaked, chrome-plated nightmare. Compared to previous
works, the seven-song <em>Manifestation</em> is a slightly less chaotic monstrosity, giving these blackened maelstroms added room to breathe, but the cumulative assault of <strong>CLOAK OF ALTERING</strong>‘s
sound on the band’s fourth album continues to thoroughly scorch the
listener. The sound is still rooted in a bizarre confluence of majestic
synth-drenched black metal, skewed industrial heaviness, and fractured
Planet Mu-esque electronic music, seemingly as informed by the
hallucinatory throes of early Coil and the violent breakcore of Bong-Ra
and Venetian Snares as it is by classic Nordic black metal. Strange
contrapuntal riffs weave drunkenly amid crackling electronic glitch and
eerie drones. Mournful synthscapes unfold across glacial rhythms and
distorted doom-laden dirges. Blasts of foul, industrialized death metal
pummel erupt alongside ominous piano figures and swells of sickening
orchestral dissonance; swarms of blackened tremolo riffage sweep across
sputtering malfunctioning rhythms and strange electronic accoutrements.<br />
<br />
One notable difference to <em>Manifestation</em> from the previous
album: the vocals, which here often take form here as a vile, guttural
robotic croak, a sickeningly putrid android presence that is layered
among the rest of the distant shrieks, anguished screams and chilling,
garbled cries that all feel as if they are trying to escape the bowels
of some nightmarish AI system. And as always, <strong>CLOAK OF ALTERING</strong>
balances all of this confusional, electronically-deformed madness with
some strikingly beautiful and majestically bleak melodic passages, with
blasts of bombastic, heavily atmospheric synthesizer roaring across
songs like “Parasitic Altering Sickness” and “Hidden Celestial Deity”.
An arresting, alien album that violently mutates these strands of
symphonic black metal DNA into a stranger and more complex strain of
digital delirium.<br />
<h5>
<strong>Crucial Blast will issue CLOAK OF ALTERING’s <em>Manifestation</em>
on CD and digital platforms on December 4th. Preorders are now live
alongside the streaming track, “Parasitic Altering Sickness” are live at

collaborations with Alkerdeel, the <i>Collected Atrocities</i> early works 2xCD,
and the outfit's most revered title to date, the ravenous full-length, <i>Abyss
Of Longing Throats</i>, Mories has transformed the entity from a studio-only
project to a touring act, having performed at Roadburn Festival in Holland,
followed by its first American performances at Maryland Deathfest XIII and Apex
VI, and a performance at Amplifest in Portugal. Now, <b>GNAW THEIR TONGUES</b>

<span style="color: white;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt;">Through
the release of nearly forty titles in less than a decade, <b>GNAW THEIR
TONGUES</b>' richly infamous works are created by the architect Mories, the same
man responsible for such acts as Aderlating, Cloak Of Altering, De Magia
Veterum, Seirom and others. Closing a three-year gap in full-length albums, the
band deployed its most mesmerizing opus yet in 2015 with the release of <i>Abyss
Of Longing Throats</i>, another hellish cacophony of mangled industrial black
metal, lurching deformed heaviness, twisted electronic carnage and bombastic
orchestral power that sounds like no one else, delivering some of the outfit's
most emotionally stirring movements yet. Decibel Magazine referred to Mories as
a, "one-man nightmare generator," issuing that, "This slab of hallucinatory
black metal is not to be played in daylight." Noisey calls <i>Abyss Of Longing
Throats</i>, "a harrowing blend of droning post-black metal, industrial,
classical and avant-garde noise that burrows through the skin like feasting
maggots," and Invisible Oranges declares, "With a genre-defying and
library-filling discography to his name, Mories's boundless creativity puts him
at the forefront of the still growing movement of serial creators in metal," and
Cvlt Nation spewed, "This newest chapter in Mories' nightmarish legacy is a
brilliant one indeed, fully capitalizing on everything that he has done so well
on past <b>GNAW THEIR TONGUES</b> releases while greatly expanding upon some of
the elements that have been deftly and subtly introduced in more recent
releases."</span></span></div>

RAMLEH: Crucial Blast To Release Circular Time Double-Album From UK Noise Rock Legends; 2016 US Tour Dates Looming</h1>

<br />
Crucial Blast is proud to announce the impending double-album full-length recording from legendary UK noise rock act <strong>RAMLEH</strong>, having set <em>Circular Time </em>for November 20th release.<br />
<br />
<br />
Remaining forged from a simple but savage combination of pummeling
mogodon drumming, monstrously overloaded synthesizers and elliptical,
sludge-encrusted bass riffs that anchor the squalls of brutal,
electrified guitar noise that crash across these thirteen tracks, <strong>RAMLEH</strong>‘s
sound is hypnotically crushing. From the almost pastoral strum of
opener “Re-entry” that ends up exploding into a frenzy of howling
feedback and motorik propulsion, the galloping power and delay-drenched
delirium of “Incubator”, to the lurching post-punk of “The Tower”, the
ferocious, volcanic ragas of “Renaissance Warfare,” and the lumbering,
almost Sabbathian bass-thud and longform guitar exploration that winds
through songs like “The March” and “American Womanhood,” <strong>RAMLEH</strong>
excavates some of their most monstrous riffs and amplifier meltdowns to
date. Heavy, zoned-out drone-rock grooves are unleashed amid gales of
sky-scorching guitar noise, with epic psych-shred workouts stretched out
across storms of nebular effects. Eerie choral ambiance rises above
over-modulated bass-lines and tumultuous drumming. Distant vocals howl
beneath sheets of shimmering guitar, and streaks of twisted, mutant dub
materialize within some of the album’s catchier moments. Cacophonies of
blissed-out guitar squall and violent drumming come tumbling out of the
speakers in a rush of free-form psychnoise, and vast, rumbling
dronescapes unfurl in the abyss, enfolding majestic but brutally
distorted melodies in waves of shadowy low-frequency synth. It’s dark,
often brutal music, but also shot through with moments of sweeping,
apocalyptic beauty, building to the powerful back-to-back finale of
“Weird Tyranny” and “Never Returner” that are as utterly blasted and
majestic as anything we’ve heard from <strong>RAMLEH</strong> in the band’s thirty-some year existence.<br />
<br />
<strong>RAMLEH</strong>’s <em>Circular Time</em> will be available from Crucial Blast as both double-CD digipak and digital release on November 20th.<br />
<br />
<strong>RAMLEH </strong>will be performing a series of rare live
dates in California in early 2016; stand by for details on the band’s
forthcoming live actions as well as audio samples and order links for <em>Circular Time</em> in the days ahead.<br />

As Crucial Blast prepares to release the CD version of the <i>Iron Scorn </i>debut by Tokyo-based industrialized death/doom duo, <b>LEGION OF ANDROMEDA</b>, the label has issued an official video track stream of the intense album-opening movement, “Transuranic Ejaculation.”<br />
Diabolical in its minimalist approach, unleashing a grinding
nightmare of violent, industrial doom/death rooted in a barbaric
simplicity, moving in endlessly cyclical percussive patterns, <b>LEGION OF ANDROMEDA</b>‘s <i>Iron Scorn</i>
wormed its way deep into the Crucial Blast depot upon first hearing it.
The band has hacked out a uniquely vicious sound, and shares as much
disgusting DNA with the grinding industrial metal of bands like Dead
World, Skin Chamber and Streetcleaner-era Godflesh as it does with the
putrescent doom/death of Autopsy, Cianide and Asphyx, brilliantly fusing
the devastating down-tuned chug of the latter to the repetitive,
belt-driven clangor of the former, each monstrous track churning through
the black cosmos like a mechanical warbeast comprised of gnashing teeth
and interlocking gears, terrifying and trance-inducing, with equal nods
to the heaviest strains of industrial metal and the most primitive
depths of black/death violence.<br />
Following its vinyl release on vinyl in North America by Unholy
Anarchy and At War With False Noise in Europe, Crucial Blast will now
reissue <i>Iron Scorn</i> on a four-panel gatefold jacket digipak CD
with a printed inner sleeve next Friday, September, 11th, to further the
blast radius of this immense debut album.<br />

<b>LEGION OF ANDROMEDA</b>’s debut has pillaged the
population with incredible reactions from fans and media sources alike.
Sputnik Music offered a champion 5/5 rating of <i>Iron Scorn</i>, the
review’s thunderous praise opening with, “You will be scorned by iron.
Marks will not fade. This is primitive yet experimental death metal at
its best.” It continues, “You will bow or roll your eyes and discharge
your intestines in disgust. There is nothing similar in extreme music
and this album is a triumph over trends, it’s as accessible as harsh
noise yet undoubtedly unforgettable.” Invisible Oranges notes how the
band members, “focus entirely on knuckle dragging brutality as a means
of inflicting a great amount of pain upon you, the listener,”
furthering, “<i>Iron Scorn </i>refuses to let up, slowly pounding its
fists with a machine’s precision into the steadily cracking earth. It
will swallow you. Commit.” The Sleeping Shaman warns, “The way you
should listen to this album is the way the Chinese used to do the
thousand cuts: take a sizable amount of narcotics, forget time, and let
the album slowly slice and dice your mind till your consciousness is as
skinned as the lady at the end of the French movie Martyrs… This is the
modern-day equivalent of 1984-era Swans.” The Sludgelord proclaims, “<i>Iron Scorn</i> is going to be considered one of 2015’s heaviest, disturbing, and depressing albums… <b>LEGION OF ANDROMEDA</b>
are the new harbingers of death and they are here to collect a few
souls along the way. I need a rest after listening to this. Only listen
to this if you are feeling brave enough.”<br />

</span><span style="color: white;">This August, Maryland-based destruction deploying label Crucial Blast will issue a CD version of the recently released <i>Iron Scorn </i>album by Japanese death/doom duo, <b>LEGION OF ANDROMEDA</b>.</span><br />
<span style="color: white;">
</span><span style="color: white;">Diabolical in its minimalist approach, unleashing a grinding

<span style="color: white;">
</span><span style="color: white;"><i>Iron Scorn</i> has a strange effect upon certain listeners; as
opener “Transuranic Ejaculation” bellows across the first moments of the
record, <b>LEGION OF ANDROMEDA</b>’s combination of primitive
bone-crushing riffage and minimal, mechanical tempo seems overly
simplistic, even tedious. Each song centers itself around little more
than a pair of interchanging riffs that circle endlessly over a
non-fluctuating mid-paced drumbeat that rarely deviates from a simple
combination of metronomic crash cymbal and rumbling double bass. Keep
listening, though, and the band’s seemingly atavistic heaviness begins
to reveal a perversely hypnotic quality, the brutal repetition and
savage cyclical flow of these seven tracks turning into surprisingly
infectious blasts of ravenous, concussive doom/death. And it’s topped
off with repulsively bestial vocals that frequently devolve into
psychotic gibberish or rabid snarling vocalizations, all of which lend
an added unhinged vibe to this rigid, skull-flattened drone-death
assault.</span><br />

<span style="color: white;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt;">Through nearly forty
titles released in less than a decade, <b>GNAW THEIR TONGUES</b>' richly
infamous works are created by the architect Mories, the same man responsible for
such acts as Aderlating, Cloak Of Altering, De Magia Veterum, Seirom and others.
Though the band has hardly been quiet in the interim, it's been a good three
years since the last full-length album from this Dutch nightmare machine. But
with new album <i>Abyss Of Longing Throats</i>, <b>GNAW THEIR TONGUES</b> has
returned in full ravenous glory, offering another hellish cacophony of mangled
industrial black metal, lurching deformed heaviness, twisted electronic carnage
and bombastic orchestral power that sounds like no one else.</span></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<span style="color: white;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">
<span style="color: white;"><span style="font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt;">From the frenzied
black swarms that sweep across the doom-laden death industrial of opener "Lick
The Poison From The Cave Walls" that eventually resolves into a glacial haze of
bleary, blasted bliss, to the hallucinatory black metal of "Through Flesh" that
fuses staccato violins, terrifying choral singing and grueling mechanical doom
to one of the most emotionally stirring sequences yet heard in the band's
catalog, <i>Abyss Of Longing Throats</i> continues to chart the evolution of
<b>GNAW THEIR TONGUES</b>' sound. There's plenty of the grueling industrialized
heaviness and violent orchestral sounds the band is known for, but this new
material also expands upon the filthy blackened doom at the heart of the act's
music with those moments of striking melodic power, moments where all the horror
surging through these songs suddenly transforms into something hauntingly
elegiac. Brief passages of tragic beauty, scattered throughout an abyss roiling
with relentless programmed blastbeats, somber chamber strings hovering
mournfully amid tortured shrieks, harsh clanking percussion and blasts of raging
orchestral chaos, all writhing together into another exhilarating descent into
total demonic delirium from this monstrous outfit. </span></span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-weight: normal;">GNAW THEIR TONGUES: Crucial Blast Confirms Multiple 2015 Titles From
Dutch Black/Doom Entity Beginning With Collected Atrocities 2005-2008</span></span></h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.facebook.com/earsplitpr"><img alt="" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-13867" height="746" src="http://www.earsplitcompound.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/gnawtheirtongues_pr02-e1414776366292.jpg" title="gnawtheirtongues_pr02" width="560" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Maryland-based purveyors of sonic annihilation, Crucial Blast,
proclaims that multiple titles from The Netherlands’ most terrifying
musical entity, <strong>GNAW THEIR TONGUES</strong>, are awaiting impending release through the label in 2015, beginning with the January discharging of <em>Collected Atrocities 2005-2008</em>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For nearly a decade, Dutch avant-black/doom entity, <strong>GNAW THEIR TONGUES</strong>
— named after a particularly evocative passage from the Book Of
Revelation — has been infecting the underground with a uniquely
disturbing brand of chaotic heaviness. Fusing together malevolent,
rumbling doom with rabid, noise-damaged aggression and blasts of
fearsome orchestral power and industrial pandemonium, and draping these
lurching, hellish dirges in an oppressive atmosphere thick with horror
and despair, the intensely nightmarish music of <strong>GNAW THEIR TONGUES</strong> defies easy categorization. The sum of all <strong>GTT</strong>’s
construction and execution is the work of sole architect and madman,
Mories, also known for other destructive output with Cloak of Altering,
Pyriphlegethon, De Magia Veterum, Aderlating, Mors Sonat, Pompidou,
Dimlit Hate Cellar and others.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Before the release of the band’s Crucial Blast debut, <em>An Epiphanic Vomiting Of Blood</em>, in 2007, <strong>GNAW THEIR TONGUES</strong>
crawled into the black metal/industrial underground via a number of
ultra-limited EPs which quickly went out of print, and are now sought
after by fans of the band’s abject blackened horror. <em>Collected Atrocities 2005-2008</em>
is a new double CD anthology that gathers together essential,
out-of-print early recordings from the band that span the first three
years of <strong>GNAW THEIR TONGUES</strong>’s existence, compiling the <em>Prefering Human Skin Over Animal Fur</em>, <em>Horse Drawn Hearse</em> and<em> For All Slaves… A Song Of False Hope</em> EPs, the material from the <em>Static Hymnal</em> compilation, and other rarities from the bowels of the <strong>GTT</strong> archive.</div>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<strong><em>Collected Atrocities 2005-2008</em></strong><strong>
will be released by Crucial Blast on January 26th. A demoralizing blast
from the past, “Glorification Of Rats,” from GNAW THEIR TONGUES’
2007-released <em>Prefering Human Skin Over Animal Fur</em> is currently emitting from <a href="https://crucialblast.bandcamp.com/album/collected-atrocities-2005-2008">THIS LOCATION</a>.</strong></h3>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Stand by for further updates on additional news on<em> Collected Atrocities 2005-2008</em> and Crucial Blast’s other upcoming <strong>GNAW THEIR TONGUES </strong>actions to take over 2015.</div>

EMIT: Obscure UK Ambient/Black Metal Entity Releases Track Through Ghost Cult Magazine</h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.facebook.com/earsplitpr"><img alt="" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-12882" height="589" src="http://www.earsplitcompound.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/emit-image-3-e1407188399561.jpg" title="emit image (3)" width="560" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In one week, extreme underworld noise specialist outfit, Crucial Blast, will unveil the worldwide edition of the out-of-print <em>Spectre Music Of An Antiquary</em>, by UK black/ambient outfit, <strong>EMIT</strong>,
and through the help of Ghost Cult Magazine, another sordid tale from
the album has been posted as evidence of the album’s utter creepiness.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As with <strong>EMIT</strong>’s previous output, the ten movements on <em>Spectre Music Of An Antiquary</em>
are lyrically more focused on the occult lore and hidden history of the
British isles rather than simply uttering Satanic shock value clichés,
an element which heightens the curiosity level of unsuspecting listeners
and adds a completely innate, sinister vibe to the entire set of tales.
Alongside its eight chapter, “Earthwork Misthill,”</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ghost Cult reports of its research on the record, “This album is
essential for those who delve into the bleak, ambient past of black
metal, thick with atmospherics. This release was so limited and rare in
its initial pressing that this re-issue will see the music seep into the
psyche of fervent fans for the first time ever, in many cases.
‘Earthwork Misthill’ is creepy as hell, but like all of <strong>EMIT</strong>’s output, never feels contrived.”</div>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">
<strong>As your shovel strikes bone, let the ambient wrath of “Earthwork Misthill” be the soundtrack for your nocturnal occultation; <a href="http://www.ghostcultmag.com/new-music-premiere-emit-earthwork-misthill/">LISTEN HERE</a>.</strong></h2>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Following several years of unavailability, Crucial Blast will reissue <em>Spectre Music Of An Antiquary</em>
next Tuesday, October 28th, the six-panel digipak featuring evocative,
all-new artwork. Preorders for the disc and digital versions are posted <strong><a href="https://crucialblast.bandcamp.com/album/spectre-music-of-an-antiquary">HERE</a></strong>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The latest album of murky graveyard ambiance, deranged synth,
phantasmic dread and ritualistic black drift from this cult UK outfit,
their first in nearly ten years is surrealistic, spectral music and
nocturnal delirium transmitted from beyond the veil and steeped in the
mysteries of old Britain, like some twisted, eldritch fusion of Fabio
Frizzi, In Umbra Malitiae Ambulabo-era Abruptum, and 80’s darkwave.
Initially released as an extremely limited cassette on Glorious North, <em>Spectre Music Of An Antiquary</em> presents the first new material from <strong>EMIT</strong>
in over five years, a full-length collection of murky ambiance,
deranged ‘80s style synth, ritualistic black drift, and stranger sounds
forays into black noise. This British outfit has been creating their
unique brand of experimental blackened delirium since the late ‘90s,
branching out of a low-fi UK black metal band called Ante Cryst, yet
with <strong>EMIT</strong>, the members began to explore a creepy,
synth-heavy sound that was unmistakably descended from black metal but
supremely more deformed, combining harsh electronic noise, horror-movie
soundtrack atmospherics, droning keyboards, wrecked and fractured black
metal guitars, and bizarre vocals that would often push their music into
a strange realm of hallucinatory, ghastly psychedelia. On <em>Spectre</em>, though, <strong>EMIT</strong>’s
sound has morphed into something that more resembles some mutated,
primitive ‘80s darkwave being completely taken over by malevolent
spirits, with eerie electronic drones and distant moaning vocals often
taking over.</div>

hosted one of the album's bizarre, all-consuming passages. The seventh in this
haunting ten chapter manifesto, "Beneath Carvings Linger," warning all who may
wander within earshot of the tune, "Beneath Carvings Linger' is a drifting fog
of shimmering ambience, groaning tones, and esoteric keyboard notes, with a
smattering of crashing noises and the strange vocals that are a dominant
presence on the album (they turn into shudder-inducing shrieks or wordless
chorales elsewhere, but not in this song). It's just a hint of the surrealistic
chill that will sink into your bones over the course of the entire album."
